NBI CLEARANCE

 

The NBI Clearance is the Philippine Police Clearance issued by the National Bureau of Investigation. The Consulate provides the fingerprint card which serves as the application for the NBI clearance. The Consulate of South Australia is not authorised by the NBI to take fingerprint impressions - applicants must have fingerprint impressions taken at any major South Australian Police Station.

 

Please collect the NBI form from the Consulate. An appointment is required for the collection of an NBI form. Subsequent to having your fingerprint impressions taken at a South Australian Police Station, please call the Consulate to arrange an appointment to certify your document.

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT

  • Personal appearance of applicant;

  • Completed and fingerprinted NBI clearance form - stamped by the South Australian Police Station;

  • Original valid passport and a photo copy of the passport

  • One (1) passport sized photograph with plain white background;

  • Non-refundable fee to be paid either in cash (correct change) or cheque payable to "Philippine Consulate of SA". ​

 

If the current name used by the applicant has changed from the name of the passport, the applicant must provide a marriage certificate or court order on change of name to support the change.

 

PLEASE NOTE 

The consulate does not process the clearance. The applicant can send the application to a representative (i.e. relative or close friend) in the Philippines who can then submit the application to an office of the National Bureau of Investigation.

 

Alternatively, the applicant can send the application directly to the NBI main office and coordinate with them by calling the NBI clearance help desk (Tel.: +632 523 8231 loc. 5499). 

 

The outcome of the application is the NBI Clearance Certificate. Should the Australian agencies requesting the NBI Clearance require the NBI Clearance Certificate to bear the seal of the Philippine Consulate, the applicant should bring the NBI Clearance Certificate to the Consulate for the affixation of the seal and fingerprint. There is no fee for affixing the seal.

An appointment must be arranged with the Consular Officer before visiting the Philippine Consulate General office.
